To fight the growing epidemic of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), hospitals have turned to expensive sterilize cleaning systems utilizing Ultra Violet (UVC) disinfection lights. What’s Sunlight Disinfection™ Technology?

While UVC has been widely used in disinfection process, it is harmful and not practical to widely adapt in the normal living environment. Antimicrobial violet-blue light in 405nm region is emerging as an alternative technology for hospital decontamination and clinical treatment and it’s harmless to human eyes and skin. The mechanism of action is the excitation of endogenous porphyrins within exposed microorganisms, resulting in ROS generation, oxidative damage and cell death. The Reactive Oxygen Species inactivates the bacteria, preventing it from re-populating the environment.
